Kollath & Associates, CPA LLC
Kollath & Associates, CPA LLC is owned and
operated by Mike Kollath, CPA and
Julie Miller, CPA. We are a full service CPA
firm providing a full range of accounting and tax
services to our clients. These services include tax planning and preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, assurance (audit, review, compilation and agreed-upon procedures) and rent-a-CFO services. Information
regarding Julie’s and Mike’s background
follows:
Mike Kollath, CPA

Mike Kollath, CPA, Partner has extensive experience in both public and private accounting, with an emphasis on big picture thinking and financial analysis while still maintaining the ability to dig into the details. He has worked with a number of different industries, including service, construction, retail, insurance companies and agencies, employee benefit plans, non-profits, printing, biotechnology, IT, real estate and many others. He has experience in tax planning and compliance, assurance services (audit, review and compilation) and general financial consulting, including rent-a-CFO services.
Julie Miller, CPA
Julie Miller, CPA, Partner, has been in the accounting industry for her entire career, working both in private industry and in public accounting firms. She started her own accounting firm in 2007, and merged into Kollath & Associates, CPA LLC in 2009. Julie has experience with a wide variety of industries, including retail, construction, real estate, insurance companies, printing, distribution and many others. She spends most of her time serving clients with bookkeeping, payroll, tax and assurance services.
Thane Newman, CPA, MS
Thane Newman, CPA, MS has 15 years
of experience in public accounting. His experience
includes business and personal tax services, as well
as, extensive audit work. Thane’s background
includes owning and managing his own business and
consulting in various fields related to real estate
and finance. He has experience in tax planning
and compliance, assurance services (audit, review
and compilation) and general financial consulting.
Lee Peters
Lee Peters has more than 10 years
of tax and accounting experience working with individuals
and small businesses. His knowledge and experience
include business startups, income tax and wealth
planning, implementation of accounting systems, and
tax compliance. Lee truly enjoys the privilege
of working closely with individuals to achieve their
goals.
Jenifer Pickhard
Jenifer Pickhard, 1998 graduate
of the University of Wisconsin – Madison with
a Bachelor’s of Science degree, works primarily
in the Sauk City branch of Kollath & Associates. Her
primary responsibilities include servicing our payroll
clients which includes payroll processing, quarterly
payroll tax returns and year end W-2’s. She
has several years of Quickbooks experience and assists
many of our small business clients with their bookkeeping
needs. She worked in private industry with
accounts payable and accounts receivable, as well
as working as an assistant in a human resource department. In
addition, she assists with preparing various monthly,
quarterly, and annual regulatory filings for multiple
clients and tax return preparation.
Aimee Kent
Aimee Kent has over 15 years of
accounting experience, primarily in the insurance
industry. Her experience includes an understanding
of all functions within an accounting department,
from accounts payable and accounts receivable to
financial statement preparation. Her attention
to detail and understanding of key deadlines
makes her an important asset during the monthly,
quarterly and year end closes. Her most
recent assignments include Annual Statement preparation
and year end reporting for life insurance companies
and audits of Property and Casualty insurance
companies, in addition to performing the accounting
and billing for Kollath & Associates.
Sara Hyland
Sara Hyland works mainly at the
Middleton branch of Kollath & Associates. Her
primary duties include, monthly bookkeeping, admin
duties, and tax return preparation. Sara previously
worked in the private sector and has 10 + years of
experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable,
human resources and insurance administration.
Carrie D Fox
Carrie D. Fox is the newest addition
to Kollath & Associates. She is a 2010 graduate of Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin. Carrie is a 2011 and 2012 QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor and has tax, audit and non-profit experience in her previous position. She will be working at the Middleton office as the office manager along with some bookkeeping for clients.
